Anahola Beach Park is on the North shore of Kauai in Anahola Bay in the Hawaiian Home Lands. Many of the people you'll see there are native Hawaiian's rather than tourists.

A great day can be spent picnicking, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. If surfing is your sport, this is a popular place. There are picnic tables available and life guards are on duty weekends and holidays. Restrooms with showers are also available as well as drinking water.

A protective reef offshore makes the beach at Anahola a good place to swim year round, especially for children. This reef also provides some excellent snorkeling opportunities and is great for beginning scuba divers.

As with any beach, there are things to be aware of for your safety, such as high surf, wave breaks and the occasional strong current. You also need to pay attention for sharp coral and slippery rocks.

If you like salt water fishing, Anahola is a good place. Imagine catching your own dinner each day - and nothing like the taste of fresh fish in paradise!

Anahola Beach Park also has camping facilities so you can stay right there and enjoy the beach from the time you wake in the morning until you go to sleep at night.

You'll want to plan ahead for camping, because a permit is needed and reservations are a good idea. Camping is permitted for seven days at a time. But you can leave for 24 hours and come back for another seven days for up to sixty days during a year's time.
